Description
Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao) Solid, prime pressed, characteristic chocolate odor used in soapmaking and some creme or lotion applications, lip balms, lotion bars, characteristic odor, light color, hard, brittle oil. Cocoa butter comes from the pressing of the seed of the shelled seeds of the cocoa bean. Used as an emollient, thickener in lip balms, hand creams and soaps. It can clog pores and it may be helpful to limit it's percentage in face creams and lotions to less than 2% by weight. Melt with the rest of the solid oils in soapmaking applications. If added at trace, melt and warm to approximately 110 degrees. SAP Value: 193.8 Fatty Acids Oleic 34-36% Stearic 31-35% Palmitic 25-30% Linoleic approx 3%.
